Based on the Object of Rotary, the Avenues of Service are Rotary’s philosophical cornerstone and the foundation on which club activity is based. The strength of the Rotary ideal is founded on the service carried out by club members, worldwide and in local communities. The Five Avenues of Service standard provides a means for Rotary clubs and individual members to measure their efforts in those areas. These Avenues of Service reinforce the importance which Rotary places on the personal involvement of each club member in Rotary service activities.
