This committee’s purpose is to support through education and initiative The Rotary Foundation (or “TRF”), or what some consider to be the engine of Rotary International (or “RI”). This foundation is the larger of the two foundations that are directly supported by our club members and is sometimes referred to as “the international foundation.” (The other is the Denver Rotary Club Foundation which was started by our club.)
The Rotary Foundation supports the efforts of Rotary International in its mission to achieve world understanding and peace through local, national, and international humanitarian, educational and cultural programs. The Rotary Foundation Support Committee supports the Rotary International by:
1) Sharing information with Club 31 members about The Rotary Foundation’s mission and its dynamic programs;
2) Actively reminding all Club 31 members to give $100 or more every year to TRF in line with RI’s message: Every Rotarian, Every Year;
3) Promoting the Rotary’s Polio Plusprogram and encouraging members to financially contribute to eradication efforts;
4) Encouraging Club 31 members to become benefactors and major donors to The Rotary Foundation;
5) Recognizing members who have reached the Paul Harris Fellow/Multiple+ levels and Major Donors during club meetings throughout the year.
The Rotary Foundation funds the grants for our World Community Service matches, polio eradication, 3-H Projects, Ambassadorial Scholars, Group Study Exchange Teams, World Peace Scholarships, University Teacher exchanges, Clean/Safe Water projectsand much more.
