ABOUT US


History

For nearly a century, the Rotary Club of Denver has been dedicated to helping others in our community and throughout the world. Much of the Club's philanthropic work is accomplished through the Denver Rotary Club Foundation (DRCF), an incorporated, charitable and tax-exempt organization founded in 1969, becoming an important charitable resource for many in need.


2010-2011 BOARD OF TRUSTEES

There are twelve members of the Board of Trustees, all of whom are members of the Foundation and members of the Club.  Four are elected every two years and they serve six-year terms.  In addition, the President and President Elect of the Club and the Executive Director of the Foundation are ex-officio members of the Board of Trustees, as well as such Club Committee Chairs as the Board feels is appropriate.

The Board of Trustees meet bi-monthly on the first Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December at the Colorado Bar Association, 1900 Grant Street, Suite 900, Denver, CO 80203 from 7:30 to 9:00 am.  Go to the Meeting & Event calendar for more details and meeting updates.


DOLLARS AT WORK

Since its inception in 1969, our Foundation has distributed millions to fund important local and international programs. Locally, it sponsors a variety of programs that nurture, educate and enrich the lives of young people including:

College Counseling Initiative
Community Resources, Inc.
DCIS/Interact Club
Denver Kids, Inc.
The Harmony Project
High School Scholarship and Achievement Awards
Junior Achievement
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
Scholastic Art Awards of Colorado
Shining Stars
New Member Projects
Vocational College Scholarships 

Internationally, our Foundation has funded nearly $500,000 to help further the worldwide humanitarian efforts of Rotary International including:

Rotary Youth Exchange
World Community Services
Global Health Connections, Inc.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

DRCF is a charitable tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization of the Rotary Club of Denver. Audited financial statements  and the federal Form 990  are prepared for the Foundation annually. Pleae click on the above links to download a .pdf copy of these documents.
