Dear Fellow Club Members,

On March 16, 2010 the accomplishments of the Communications Committee were presented to the Club’s Board of Directors and I would like to share a summary of that presentation.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Diversity:

·  The Denver Post – published an article about President Roland Thornton

·  MiCasa – a 30 year old local organization working with Hispanic youth and women - submitted an application for DRCF grant

·  Intermountain Jewish News – article to be published before 6/30/10

·  Senator Gary Hart was invited to speak to the club about Russia and Afghanistan

·  Denver Hispanic Chamber was reached out to, and we hope for reciprocal visit before 6/30/10

·  9News – featured President Roland Thornton

·  Denver Woman Magazine - article was not published due to financial issues at the magazine after a long collaborative effort

·  Marcus Jimenez, one of the nation’s top experts in diversity marketing, was invited to join the club but he was not interested

Outreach:

All efforts mentioned above, plus:

·  Grant Wilkins and Polio were featured on 9News

·  If the club receives the District Diversity Award, we have a good chance to be featured on CO Public  Radio’s Colorado Matters program before 6/30/10
